Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park

Monument Valley is technically in Arizona but you have to pass through some of Utah to get there. BC had never been to Utah so he added a new state and was very excited about it. We stayed at a Hampton Inn in the small town of Kayenta, Arizona. Grand Canyon National Park

The South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park is about 3 1/2 hours away from Phoenix.  The South Rim is where most of the facilities are located and is open year round.  The North Rim is further away from Phoenix (by hours!) only open during May-September. The Grand Canyon is 10 miles wide!  Can you imagine being an explorer or going west in the 1800’s and running into this?!?!  Talk about a bump in the road.
