North Rim of the Grand Canyon

The North Rim of the Grand Canyon was not originally part of the Great Roadtrip plan. We went to the South Rim a few years ago and really didn’t have to much desire to see the North Rim. But is was only a few (hundred) miles out of the way on our journey to Antelope Canyon in Arizona. All in all it turned out to be a good story at least. Bryce Canyon for Real this Time

Since our first attempt at Bryce Canyon National Park was riddled with fog and rain, a second attempt at hiking among the hoodoos was in order. After a lovely day at Zion National Park, BC and I made our way back to Bryce. It was amazing how much better the weather was today! It was chilly (about 40 degrees) but oh so sunny! Our hiking plan for today was to get into the Bryce Amphitheatre (the canyon’s official name) by hiking down on Queen’s Garden Trail and back up by hiking Navajo Trail for a total of 3 miles roundtrip.
