Stoney Creek Farm can best be described as a modern, yet rustic bed and breakfast in Western Maryland, near Antietam National Battlefield. I shall refer to it as my new favorite bed and breakfast stay!
Before arriving at the Stoney Creek Farm Bed and Breakfast, I stopped at the Antietam National Battlefield in nearby Sharpsburg, Maryland to learn more about the bloodiest day-long battle of the American Civil War. It was raining on and off for a few hours so I decided to pack it in and visit again tomorrow.
An easy 20 minute drive brought me to Stoney Creek Farm and this glorious soaker tub. I took full advantage of it and warm myself up after the cold, rainy afternoon at Antietam.
My room was the Equestrian Room- a giant king sized bedroom and an equally giant bathroom to match. The bed was soft and warm and cocooned me throughout the night as I slept and as I listened to the rain falling outside.
Stoney Creek Farm is not one of those B&B’s filled to the brim with antiques with a quaint vibe. This is legitimately somewhere you want to pay money to stay the weekend- lounging around the house, eating all the delicious homemade cookies, drinking tea (or Diet Coke), and reading. Or maybe those are just all of my favorite rainy day activities.
It is also a Select Registry Property, so you know you are staying somewhere selected for quality.
The queen sized Federal room on the 2nd floor was gorgeous with a lovely bathroom as well. All of the four rooms here are fresh and new with gorgeous bathrooms
The owner and owner’s family work together in running Stoney Creek Farm. I met 3 generations of family who were friendly and fun and kept the house and grounds immaculate.
Stoney Creek Farm hosts a lot of weddings and receptions as well- if you are in the market for such a place. On one of the days I was there, Innkeeper Denise had 5 wedding consultations. That is how nice this place is!
On the expansive land, there is an old creek cottage that probably once used as an outdoor kitchen. A small creek, probably Stoney Creek, runs through it keeping it cool in the summer and warmer in the winter.
Inside it was wonderfully restored and added so much character to the Farm.
I can see all those couples getting their wedding photos taken here.
Since it is a bed and breakfast, breakfast is provided. Coffee, orange juice, yogurt with granola, and fresh berries started off my giant and yummy breakfast.
Cinnamon Bun French Toast was hot and amazing! I smothered mine is syrup which is my favorite way to eat French toast. I mostly had to roll myself out of the chair to get back to my room. So full!
One more glorious soak in the tub rounded out my stay at the Stoney Creek Farm Bed and Breakfast. I had an incredible stay here and would recommend it to anyone. It is my favorite bed and breakfast that I have stayed at ever in my travels.
Disclaimer: My stay was compliments of Select Registry but all opinions are truthful and are my own. But seriously, this place rocks! Stay here!
