Sunday in Downtown Fargo is slow and peaceful. I woke up in the mood for some breakfast and coffee. Luckily I was able to find Youngblood coffee shop and had a really good honey graham latte while I used their free WIFI to tweet and catch up on Instagram.

At 10am a delicious bagel place opens for business so save your breakfast craving for BernBaums bagels and smoked salmon. I met a new friend for breakfast/brunch and she went for the smoked salmon plate with greens and homemade pickles. I had food envy so she offered me some of hers.

I did the everything bagel with herb cream cheese which was fantastic. The bagels are  not New York-style so don’t be expecting the same chew but the flavor and texture was still great.

After breakfast I attempted to visit some of the fun little stores around and on Broadway that I had visited the day prior but no luck.

At 2pm the Fargo-Morehead Redhawks independent professional baseball team, had a game against Winnipeg. It was a gorgeous 70 degree day, so I grabbed a beer and bought the cheapest grandstand seat.

The game was fun, high scoring, and very reminiscent of the minor league baseball I used to watch growing up in Iowa.

The walking taco has always been a Midwestern favorite of mine. Doritos plus all the taco fixings- it is hard to not enjoy one of these.

The Redhawks stadium is part of the North Dakota State University campus which was quite pretty to walk through- about 2 miles from downtown.

I enjoyed my little walk through Fargo on such a nice day.

The Hjemkomst Center is open on Sundays from 12-5 (the Viking boat museum) and a few more restaurants open as the day went on as did the Fargo movie theater. I ended up hitting the Radisson hotel gym for some weight lifting (my legs were still a little sore from yesterdays Go Far Woman run) before calling it a day.

Overall, there isn’t much going on on Sunday in downtown Fargo but there is definitely enough to keep you busy and have a fun-filled time. I’m so glad I walked to the Redhawks game, it was really entertaining and such a great day to be outside.

Reader Question: Do you do relaxing Sundays or try to get as much jammed into the weekend as you can?

  1. Sounds like a great day and I love the walking taco idea! I’ve never tried that. I love relaxed Sundays but it seems like it’s hard to get one of those when there’s always tons to do. It’s nice to be able to have that during vacation.
