2015 WIT Summit Boston And A Giveaway

This years Women in Travel Summit was held in the great city of Boston. WIT Summit is a conference for women travelers, travel bloggers, and travel professionals.  It is a fun-filled weekend with networking, eating and drinking, and making new travel buddies.

(There is an awesome giveaway at the bottom of the post, make sure you sign up!!!)

Boston Commons WIT Summit

My favorites from this weekend included connecting with some Iowa travel bloggers a the conference, having my roommate that I have never met be super-awesome, the On Location Boston movie tour,  a fun opening night party, and getting fancy drinks at Liquid Art House.

Here I am checking out some conference swag from Delsay:

My restaurant choices did not meet expectations which is a shame.  Next time, Boston, next time.

The point of the WIT Summit is to learn about what interests you. I learned a lot about the technical aspects of blogging from Melissa of Suitcase and Heels and Brooke of Yoga Travel Tree and excellent writing tips from Theresa of Tremendous Times.  These are smart women who really know their stuff.  If you are new to travel blogging or blogging in general, attending a conference as well run as this one is a great idea.

If your travel bug is not out in full-force  before the conference starts it will be by the end.  About 25% of the bloggers in the room are completely nomadic and travel full-time.  Another handful are full-time bloggers but the vast majority blog as a hobby or as a second job. Everyone though, is excited about travel. One of my favorite topics with fellow attendees is what their favorite place is and where they are going next.  Uh-oh, my bucket list just got longer!

My stylish new carry-on:

Sounds like such a great conference! I really have to check out one of these blogging conferences one of these days. I have a work conference in Boston in the Fall which I’m looking forward to hopefully getting to explore the city a little. And my favorite travel destination currently is Belize. We had a great time there a couple years ago.

my favorite travel memory would be going to Wilderness Presidential with my family and camping out for the weekend in their trailers. I’ve always wanted to own a trailer and travel all over camping. We had a great time that weekend – camping, fishing, grilling, telling stories and making life long memories.

Sounds like a fun trip! My favorite travel memory isn’t one specific trip but that summer we went on one trip right after another and pretty much used all our vacation days up! I think it was Cancun then Alaska? (Then I went on a cruise, hung out with Michael in FL, and somehow ended up married to him years later. 🙂 I so hope he reads this.)

  6. Megan says:

One of my favorite unique travel destinations was Slovenia….but you were there with me!

  7. Brooke says:

My favorite travel memory was the 2 weeks my husband and I spent in the PNW during the summer of 2013. We hit up Portland, the Oregon coast, and Seattle. It was perfect!

Must get to Chile and Patagonia this year. Pictures look to amazing to not check it out!
