American Sailing Tours Baltimore
Travel Massive Baltimore is the local chapter of an organization made up of travel professionals, writers, media, local business owners, service industry marketers, and more. Travel Massive Baltimore managed to put together a Periscope learning module, wine tasting with Great Frogs Winery and American Sailing Tours.
This is by far the coolest networking event I’ve attended.
The sails went up and the group was on their way through the Inner Harbor for some gorgeous views.
A windy sailing selfie:
The Domino Sugar Factory is a recognizable sight to anyone from the area. Sailing lessons happen in the harbor often- it just so happens that I saw them both at the same time.
Wine from Great Frogs Winery in Annapolis is really tasty and so much better than that other Maryland winery that we all know (and I really dislike). The Chardonnay is non-oaky and right up my alley.
Travel Massive set up an educational portion of the night where we learned about the new social media platform called Periscope. I haven’t used it yet but now I understand it the next time I try. It is hard to keep up with all the different apps these days.
What would a sunset cruise be without an amazing sunset?! I know the great captain and staff at American Sailing Tours couldn’t have asked for a better sunset- looks at all those colors! This is an unfiltered, non-photoshopped photograph.
After the amazing sunset the sailboat turned around and started the way back to the Four Seasons with a quick tour of the Inner Harbor. But first some dessert wine:
Great Frogs had a few dessert wines that were really good! My favorites were this City Dock and All Hands on Deck. Of the non-dessert wines the Chardonnay and the Red Blend Watermen were my favs! I will definitely searching out Great Frogs more for a visit to the vineyard some weekend for a tasting!
The Baltimore National Aquarium:
American Sailing Tours made this such a great event. I know they had no control over the sunset but everything about this was great! Such a great way to spend a Thursday night- great sights, relaxing on the water with great wine, and of course hanging out with my fellow travel nerds.
