Angkor Thom and more
Angkor Thom is right down the road from Angkor Wat, it’s purpose was a fortified city with an impressive moat and gates to keep out invaders.
And these God and Demon heads along the south gate to warn off anyone (God heads on the right, demon heads on the left).
There were 108 of these heads total.
All together now, the south enterance to Angkor Thom:
Me and the Bayon in Angkor Thom:
All the walls and pillars had faces designed into them.
A view from the top of the Baphuon:
There was a buddha carved into the wall of the Baphuon (he’s laying down). It was very cool.
Prasat Suor Prat- 12 towers named the Temple of the Tightrope Dancers

Funny story about this place. I tried getting my picture taken by randoms 6 or 7 times. They were young, old, Asian, European, and even one American. Every single time, even when directed to do otherwise, they took a picture of me with very little background. No matter how I said it, pointed, readjusted the camera for them, they always wanted my legs in the picture.
I mean, yes they are nice legs but I don’t want a picture of me in Cambodia- I want a picture of Cambodia with me in it. Make sense? So I directed the next lady with my specific request of no legs just waist up. And she freaking took a picture of my whole body and the wood floor!
No! Bad! Do over! There is a very cool tree in the background that you can’t see all that well. So this is what she took next:
I gave up, no more photos of me today. Am I the only person who thinks this is weird? I usually don’t have too many issues with it but today was special. Very special.
Tomorrow is filled with more temples and sights from Siem Reap. Check back to see if I find any better photographers tomorrow 🙂
Very jealous. Pictures look awesome, well most of them. For future notice, I am a great photographer so next time on your cool trips….
haha! You are hired. Heck even Caden is hired. It was funny it was so bad!
You had me cracking up! 🙂
I know, it’s just so annoying right, when you need help with photographs and people just don’t get it.
It’s like, “Am I reaching for the Stars here?”
I totally hear you 😀
This looks like an amazing place, I can’t wait for my trip to Cambodia, really soon! 😉
