Bar Harbor, Maine and Acadia National Park

The last day of vacation has arrived 🙁  Bar Harbor was one of my favorite stops on this 2 week trip through New England and Eastern Canada.  The downtown was filled with cute shops and restaurants with nice water views.

If you ever are in Bar Harbor for breakfast go to Morning Glory Bakery and get a bagel with veggie cream cheese.  It was the best bagel I’ve had outside of New York.

We found some lobster ice cream too.  It sounded interesting but I’d rather have my lobster in lobster roll or steamed lobster form.

After lunch we drove up to Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain. There are lots of outdoor things like carriage rides, biking, and hiking to do.  I would definitely like to come back and do more of that.  The drive was gorgeous but getting out into the foliage on a bike or a hike would have been more fun for me.

Martha Stewart and Dick Wolfe (producer of Law and Order) both have summer homes in Acadia amongst the foliage along the water.

We hit Maine just at the peak of colors- so many different reds, orages, yellows, golds, and greens.  More foliage:Bar Harbor foliage

A beach that I didn’t get a chance to go to:

Bar Harbor, Maine was a great stop!  Hopefully someday I can return and do a little more exploring in town and around Acadia National Park.

A best/worst recap of my entire New England/Eastern Canada vacation and a  Popchip give-away are coming up next.
