Conferencing at the Phoenix Convention Center
The real reason for my trip to Arizona was for a work conference at the Phoenix Convention Center. It was just a bonus that my sister and her family live here (two trips in one!). While I was struggling to wake up and get ready, someone stole my unlocked phone for a photo op.
The conference itself was really informative and educational. I enjoyed that part much more than I have in the past. However the food at the Phoenix Convention Center was awful, like inedible awful. No photos of my Cesaer Salad with soggy croutons and no dressing (they ran out). Everyone commented on the how yucky and expensive everything was. After my inedible salad I consulted Yelp and came up with the best plan ever- Pizzeria Bianco!!!
I have wanted to try Pizzeria Bianco for years. It was been at the top of United States’ best pizzas many times. They are notorious for being super-crowded but if you go at 3pm on a Thursday, you will be fine
The pizza margarita was my choice and it was simple and superb. Just look at this deliciousness.
Near Pizzeria Bianco there is quite a lot to see- the Phoenix Children’s Museum, Heritage Square, and the Arizona Science Center. If you are with your family, it is easy to swing into grab a pizza between stops.
My hotel was close to the Convention Center and Pizzeria Bianco- the Kimpton Palomar Phoenix CityScape. I quick wine hour and quick change I was off to the best industry party ever!
Buses took conference attendees to Corona Ranch and Rodeo Grounds for a rodeo and party!
A mariachi band and a margarita greeted me as I walked in the door to the giant party with 2 bands, a mechanical bull, and 4 buffets full of Mexican food!
Nachos and red wine- two of my favorite things!
The rodeo had some bull-riding and horse showmanship. It was the coolest party venue ever!
Conferencing was fun and educational but I have more exciting and fun travels planned for this trip. The roadtrip to my 44th state begins today- New Mexico here I come!
