Driving Down the Oregon Coast- Manzanita Oregon
The Oregon road trip continues!
We traveled from Cannon Beach, Oregon- the posh, crowded beach town to Manzanita, Oregon- the laid back, practically empty beach town. The road between the two beach towns is a gorgeous drive. I pulled off a few times for photo stops. The Oregon coast view never gets old.
In Manzanita there were only a few tourists left on a Sunday night.
There were far more birds than people. It was peaceful, especially after a very crowded Cannon Beach.
There must have been people here at some point because there was a badass sand castle.
The town of Manzanita was very cute! There were a few restaurants, coffee shops, a single grocery store, a few small beach motels. My mom said that Manzanita was her favorite place she has been in a while. I think she would have made me spend the rest of our vacation here if I would have let her.
I was a little bored in town. But the fish benches were really cute!
The town next to Manzanita was Nehalem Bay. It is an even smaller town than Manzanita. They did have a winery that I made mom drive to do some tasting. The wines were not that good but it was a fun little outing.
Back in Manzanita we found a motel to stay in for the night- the Sunset Surf Motel. Our motel was right on the beach with great views- probably the best views I’ve ever had of the beach!
The Sunset Surf Motel directly on the beach. Our room was on the 2nd floor on the end with huge windows overlooking the beach.
Sunset from the motel room.
Next up we are driving to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area with the biggest sand dunes in the USA. I’m very excited to see them!
