Elephants in the Masai Mara

We came upon a family (pod, group, den?) of elephants in the Masai Mara.  Elephant mom got a little nervous about us so she flapped her ears to warn us.  I was more than a little nervous but they kept on walking.  Whew!

I’ve seen Asian elephants in Thailand and they look very similar to African elephants except that they don’t have tusks. There were a lot of elephants that we saw with broken tusks which could be due to fighting.  We called them the troublemaker elephants.
