Fogo De Chao Market Table
Last week I had the opportunity to eat at Fogo de Chao and try out their new Market Table. The Market Table is a new version of their salad bar filled with delicious and mostly healthy goodies. I am a big lover of salad bars to the Market Table was right up my alley.
Fogo de Chao in Baltimore has been making some changes recently including starting a happy hour with great drink specials and even food specials like skewers of their famous meats.
I can’t wait to try that out someday, especially now that I have picked out my favorite cuts of the meats available here.
The Market Table is still full of salad and vegetables. The array of lettuces, dressings and salad toppings were amazing!
I love sun dried tomatoes so I filled up on those. The green goddess dressing was light and fresh. I’ve never had hearts of palm raw and now I wonder why. I’ll have to search it out more often because it is now a favorite.
Salads and veggies galore:
My plate of salad, mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, hearts of palm, tabbouleh, chicken salad, parmesan cheese, bacon, olives, and more:
There are meats on the market table as well- I had some creamy chicken salad, charcuterie and then there is the bowl of bacon- an entire bowl of crispy, amazing bacon. I was in heaven.
The parmesan cheese wheel and fresh mozzarella balls took care of any cheesy cravings. I could just come here and eat at the Market Table and be really happy. Vegetarian girlfriends of meat-eating boyfriends have a new date night dinner destination.
But when you are at Fogo de Chao you really need to feed the carnivore inside and have some of the carved meat. My absolute favorites were the Lamb Chop (who knew! I didn’t think I was a big fan of lamb either) and the house specialty Picanha Top Sirloin. Both cuts were juicy, flavorful and sliced to order.
Ask for some chimichurri sauce to go with the meat! It adds something special.
As beverages go I didn’t want a drink since it was only lunch so I had the Brazilian ginger beverage called Guarana Antarctica. I will definitely be seeking this out in the future. I’m not big on ginger ale but this drinks was refreshing and light.
As always the side dishes at Fogo de Chao amaze- if you leave room in your belly for them. The fried plantains were perfect.
There will be no room for dessert at the end of this meal but if you are big on dessert, same some room for the crème brulee. The crunchy topping was perfect with the creamy vanilla bean filling.
I’m already planning a work happy hour at Fogo de Chao and dinner or a fancy lunch out the next time I am in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor visiting the nearby museums, aquarium, or doing some shopping. It is time to return to an old favorite.
