Good Eats from the Wild West

I may not have gained 10 lbs on this trip due to all the hiking but it wasn’t for lack of trying.  There are some good eats from the Wild West in Wyoming- especially for the meat eaters. Bison are everywhere in this area so Bison burgers were on every menu, some better than others.

This was a good one from the Wort Hotel’s Silver Dollar Bar in Jackson Hole.

Mom had the star of the show though with her corn chowder and elk gyro.  Elk gyro sounds weird but was fabulous!

Yelp only liked this place but I would come back again for a casual dinner in Jackson Hole.

Time for my favorite barbeque.

Bubba’s also opened another location in Cody, WY so you can hit up either for some salad bar, brisket, baked beans, and potato salad.  You must get all those things.  And yes, you will be waddling home after dinner.  FYI:  do not order the spare ribs though- they are bad.  I told Mom they were bad (according to Yelpers) but she ordered them anyway.  Now Mom can confirm they are bad.

The craft beer here is only okay.  I tried 3 or 4 different varieties and loved none of them- hated only 1.

For dessert, Wyoming has huckleberry everything- pie, cobbler, ice cream, and more.  I vote for pie.  Mom chose ice cream.

All the hiking, rafting, riding, and biking going on in Yellowstone and the Tetons makes for hungry restaurant patrons.  The cuisine in Wyoming is definitely meat and huckleberry heavy but is quite tasty, local, cowboy food.
