Julian Alps- Slovenia
It was a loooonnnnggggg day in the Julian Alps in Slovenia! We just got home and need to decompress. Here are some pretty pictures of our drive through the Julian Alps.
I’m not really sure why my sister is posing by this sign???
Crazy bike riders climbing at a very, very steep grade:
There were a lot of bicyclists on the road. There are some shorter rides and many week-long trips through the mountains. You have to be in good shape though. Some of the hills were brutal. We saw at least two bicyclists have to get off their bike and walk up the to the top.
Caden and I posing on a windy overlook:
The road is very narrow at points and a truck going the other direction hit my sister’s rearview mirror, destroying it. The other driver kept driving. My sister was not the happiest person at that point. Good thing there was more great views to look at!
My favorite photo of the day is my very cute nephew frolicking in the gorgeous, green fields:
More to come soon…after we recover from the drive from Ljubliana, through the mountains, and to Lake Bled. Whew!
