Lake Naivasha, Kenya

After Aberdare National Park we continued on the journey to Lake Naivasha, Kenya where I took way too many photos of flamingos.  Hundreds of flamingo photos.  In my defense there were a lot of flamingos and they were very pink and pretty.

Giraffe photo bomb:

We started out on Lake Naivasha on a boat.  After crossing the lake we hopped out and went on a walking safari.  It was a little weird and scary- we had to stay quiet and couldn’t get too close to the buffalo as to not make them mad.  The giraffes wanted to hang out but the zebras are scaredy-cats and ran away. I was like a zebra and hid behind people the whole time 🙂

After our little walking safari we hopped back in the boat and saw hippos for the first time.

The we a little creepy with the staring.  Hippos are shy and don’t like people or having their pictures taken.  Sidenote:  They also smell very, very bad!

Waterfowl everywhere:

We also saw a python and got really close to it.  It was scary!

And more flamingos of course:

Lake Naivasha was pretty neat but I definitely preferred Aberdare National Park over it.  We are heading to the Masai Mara next which is going to be a highlight for sure as the Wildebeest Migration is happening now!
