Lately Around Baltimore

My trip to Japan was amazing in every way- the people were wonderful, the sights beautiful, the food delicious and my first typhoon just to make things interesting. Now that I’m back at home in Baltimore, Maryland I’m catching up with friends, my neighborhood, and my sports teams

Federal Hill is near the Baltimore Ravens field- M and T Bank Stadium so it is a hotbed of activity on weekends- whether the Ravens are home or away. This year we are not very good (sad) so we make the most of the festivals and hanging out with friends and eating festival food.

And my favorite Baltimore meal from Ryleigh’s Oyster on Shore Night- $1 raw oysters on the half shell

And one pound of broiled peel and eat shrimp covered in Old Bay and cipollini onions.

The Baltimore Book Festival is held in the Inner Harbor and is fun for your inner book nerd.  I love books and reading so I made time to meander down to the harbor to check out some of the author sessions and see what local authors were signing books.

There were live readings and of course used books sales- yes! It was a pretty windy day but still fun for the whole family.

Before the Saturday Farmer’s Market at the Baltimore Museum of Industry this was the scene. Eerie and totally worthy of an Edgar Allen Poe tale.

I love taking photos of signs and these were my two favorites over the past week. 1/2 price wine- this one worked and totally got me in the door.

And this Fire Exit sign- it also worked and I quickly moved to another exit Smile

The best and worst of Japan post is coming up soon! Stay tuned!

Those birds are totally eerie! I hate it when they line up like that. I love that fire exit sign 🙂

Hoping the toxic green dye is flame retardant if you actually had to use the door!!
