My Birthday Week

Today is my birthday! Since Andrea on Vacation began back in 2012 (I can hardly believe it has been 3 years of blogging!), I have spent birthdays in Orlando visiting Harry Potter Land at Universal Studios Florida,

a weekend in Philadelphia learning about nation’s history,

and a weekend in New York eating bagels (which is exactly what I am eating right now!).

My birthday is today so of course I am traveling soon.  For this birthday trip I am going back to Boston! The Women in Travel Summit (also known as the WIT Summit) is in Boston this weekend.

Last year’s WIT Summit is Chicago was a lot of fun so I figured Boston would make a good birthday trip!

I am a firm believer in the Birthday Week instead of just one day- especially when you birthday falls on a Monday- blah.  So far I have celebrated in Baltimore by watching March Madness with friends and going to see Insurgent (pretty good, not fabulous, although the effects were great!).

On a run through the Inner Harbor in Baltimore yesterday:

On Saturday we went to check out a new restaurant in the Locust Point area of Baltimore called 1157.  It only seats 30 people so this is not the place to go with a big group.  However, it was amazing!

Brussel Sprouts:

Pork Belly with lentils:

Short Rib Sandwich that came with a side of quinoa:

Everything was excellent but these are my favorite brussel sprouts for sure.

Tonight’s plan is to do happy hour with coworkers for a going away party followed by my birthday dinner with BC- an excellent start to my birthday week 2015!

Sounds like your birthday week is off to a good start! I love that you always travel on your birthday 🙂 We’re planning a trip to Harry Potter land later this year and I’m pretty excited about it.
