Shell Beach in St. Bart’s
St. Bart’s is known as a vacation wonderland for celebrities and the wealthy. TMZ and Ok magazine regularly feature famous people frolicking on St. Bart’s beaches and shopping in the boutiques.
Prada, Cartier, and Dolce and Gabbana line one side the main street, keeping prices, window-shopping and people watching at a premium level. The mega-yachts of the rich and famous line the other side of Front street. It is a difficult decision to choose which side of the road to walk/ogle on so a few trips up and down is advised.
While I purchased absolutely nothing in St. Bart’s, I had fun window-shopping!
It was a glorious weather day so we meandered around Little Bay running into a lot of traffic and this weird bear statue with what looks like poop in his hand.
Mom and I eventually meandered to Shell Beach, an appropriately named beach because of all the seashells. It was crazy!!!!
We laid our towels on the shells along with the other sunbathers and attempted to relax. Both of us were constantly rolling over because laying down on shells is not comfortable- ouch!
Walking up and down the beach was hard too. Walking on seashells hurts! I wore my flip flops and did okay.
The water is a little rough and shells made it almost impossible to wade in. While not the most practical beach it is one of the coolest beaches I have ever visited.
One thing I can guarantee is that I will not be flying into St. Bart’s. Watching the tiny planes land is scary! They shut down their engines as they land and plunge into the trees. Ah!
Sailing in is definitely the way to go!
