Skiing the A-Basin, Colorado
My good friend Lauren is awesome and moved to Denver a few years back. I am finally here to visit her and ski in the mountains. For our first day in the mountains we are skiing the A-Basin (the Arapahoe Basin) because she had discounted lift tickets (always a plus to save a little $$$).
My ski buddies: Lauren, Katie, and Dave:

I dress brightly so you can find me in the trees when i go missing.
Beer break #1 with some A-Basin brew:
Lauren preferred to have a bacon Bloody Mary break.
Then there were more beer breaks.
I am a so-so skier. My form is terrible but Lauren gives private ski lessons in her spare time and used to be a ski instructor. She gave me some pointers so I got a lot better today. I am still a green and blue hill skier in Colorado but I was better than Dave 🙂
Other lesson learned today: Skiing is about beer breaks as well. The beer is so delicious here and you need to hydrate often up in the mountains. Beer works for that, right? 🙂
Skiing the A-Basin was a fun place to go, away from a lot of the big and sometimes fancy crowds at Vail, Apsen, and Keystone. Give it a try if you have a long ski vacation in Colorado coming up soon.
