Underwater Safari in the Galapagos
Snorkeling in the Galapagos was amazing! The underwater Galapagos wildlife was really something to see. Despite multiple back/back of legs sunburns from these snorkeling excursions (will I ever learn?!), the twice daily swims were my favorite parts of the trip.
Another couple I was with had a Go Pro underwater camera system. While the pictures were great, their system leaked and busted the camera (sad face!). I love, love, love my underwater camera!
I like the fish that look like they are wearing make-up. This is a ringtail damselfish:
These fish look like they are wearing yellow lipstick and purple eyeshadow! The Island Major Damselfish:
This is a Galapgos Manta Ray. It looks like a spaceship!
Not that I like seeing sharks while I’m in the water but this white tipped reef shark was the only shark I saw the whole trip. I was really hoping to see a hammerhead shark but no luck.
The sea lions were fun to swim with in the ocean. They were curious about us until they realized we were boring and had to use snorkels.
The fish in the Galapagos are plentiful and gorgeous- it is an underwater safari. I would highly recommend any of my scuba diving or water-loving friends to put the Galapagos on their bucket list.
That is it for underwater pictures from this trip! It was so much fun to have an underwater camera. It made snorkeling in the Galapagos a lot more fun and made for some incredible pictures!
The last day of my Galapagos vacation is coming up next! I will miss snorkeling in the Galapagos!
