Summer 2015 Travel Plans

Last week I was hard at work making summer travel plans. My summer vacation kick off starts tomorrow as BC and I head to the Finger Lakes in New York and the Corning Glass Fest. I have never been to the Finger Lakes before and am very exciting to be visiting somewhere new! Check back this week often to read more about the food, wine, Glass Fest, and see some of New York’s most gorgeous scenery.

Straight from the Finger Lakes we are driving to Delaware for a Memorial Day beach weekend and to see our new summer beach house!

Of the 3 flights I purchased last week one is to visit my sister, nephew and niece in Arizona in June. June is not exactly the best month to go to Arizona but oh well. Cool Aunt Andrea is coming to visit!

July’s plans now include RAGBRAI with my aunt and high school friend. RAGBRAI is a bike ride across Iowa (my home state) where you ride about 70 miles a day, see a lot of corn, eat pork tenderloins as big as your face, and experience small-town middle America charm.

The route is very favorable this year in that one of the overnight towns is my mom’s hometown where my aunt, uncle, and grandma live, rides through Iowa City (my college town), and ends in the city where my brother lives.  I’m doing a lot more days of bike riding, and therefore more miles. It should be interesting to see if I can hang with the big kids. Now, I must buy my own bike Smile I borrowed my aunt’s last year. Not an option this year if I’m riding with her.

My last big adventure is for the end of summer- almost 2 weeks in Japan! I found a good flight deal and just booked it. I am pumped to visit a new country and eat a lot of sushi.

Do you have any summer travel plans yet? Visiting anywhere new? Anyone want to join me for Japan? Smile
